Sirsasana and sarvngasana variations including karnapidasana are the king and queen of yoga asanas. Together they reign over a healthy body, mind and heart. However, done unsupported, without props they can damage the neck and inflate the ego through excess of action. At the Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Centre we always do these poses with props in a relaxing manner so that effort is reduced and the body can go into a deep state of introspective awareness. They form the most essential of daily practices for all people of all ages.
